On Sunday, May 6, 2012, Eric Bush brought the message on Stewardship Sunday.
On Sunday, April 8, 2012, the church celebrated Easter with an egg hunt.
On Sunday, April 1, 2012, Rachel and Sidney Bush brought the music for the Palm
Sunday service.
On Saturday, March 24, 2012, we hosted the third annual Sippin' Sisters Spring
Tea. Our speaker this year was Valerie Grigsby, our musical entertainment
was The Spirit Within, and we had ladies from Bethlehem Baptist, Cedar Grove
Baptist, Providence Baptist, Eminence Christian, Eminence Baptist, Eminence
First Presbyterian, Defoe Baptist, Union Baptist, Port Royal Methodist, Covenant
Methodist, Crestwood Baptist, New Castle Methodist and Cove Creek Christian
joining us Drennon Christians.
On Sunday, March 18, 2012, elders Charles Adams, Ronald Dean Baugh and Melvin
Louden welcomed new elders MB Hardin, Jr. and Earl Holmes, Jr., and new deacon
Alvin King.
Cathy Bush and Glenda Jackson of Providence Baptist Church outside Campbellsburg
came to Drennon on March 11, 2012, to tell us about their many mission trips to
Haiti. They shared photos, souvenirs, smiles and tears.
Bro. Corey baptized local Drennonite Laymon Durbin at Southeast Christian Church
Oldham Campus on Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2012.
Eleanor Jones Sharp rallied the church youth to deliver the sermon on Sunday,
February 19, 2012, while Bro. Corey was serving as Spiritual Director of the
Residents Encounter Christ weekend at the Kentucky State Reformatory.
Eleanor Jones Sharp recently located our old
sanctuary Bible and two ledger books from homes of past members. The Bible
dates from the 1930s and the ledgers from the 1910s.
On Wednesdays we have our Andy Griffith Bible Study, but occasionally we'll have
a movie night. On January 18, 2012, we watched the movie Courageous
together, with a record-number crowd of 27.
On Wednesday, December 21, 2011, we held our annual Candlelight Christmas
Service, with special music from Rachel & Sidney Bush as well as Billy Scrivner,
Justin Goff and Dustin Temple.
On Wednesday, December 14, 2011, the Andy Griffith Bible Study met at the
Beattys' home in LaGrange for the first time. Twenty-five folks crammed
into the house, raising temperatures into the nineties.
On Sunday, December 11, 2011, Gene Raake came and sang a cappella for us.
Gene and Brenda were married at Drennon "two days ago" according to Gene, and
Brenda (born a Quickert) grew up at Drennon.
We had a Christmas cookie bake on Wednesday night, December 7, 2011, before,
during and after our Andy Griffith Bible Study. Bro. Corey judged the top
cookies as well as the ugliest cookie. Winners were as followed:
Samuel Bush, 1st place; Sidney Bush, 2nd place; Rachel Bush, 3rd place; JR
Beatty, 4th place and Patsy Payton, Ugliest Cookie.
On Tuesday, November 29, 2011, between 30 and 40 folks from Drennon or friends
with Drennonites went to Capital City Christian Church in Frankfort to view the
Christmas in Mayberry play for the second straight year.
On Sunday, November 20, 2011, Cara Hazzard came and brought us beautiful
Christian music and also shared her testimony as a new student in a Christian
performing school.
On Sunday, November 13, 2011, Anthony Lucas and Kelly Grigsby came and brought
us beautiful Christian music, both from the hymnbooks as well as more
contemporary tunes.
Drennon Christian Church once again sponsored a Babe Ruth baseball team at
Shelby County Parks and Recreation. Bro. Corey & Beatty were coaches,
along with Brad Steverson and Brent Isaacs.

On Sunday, August 21, 2011, Carlton Clark sang a
solo a capella version of "One Day at a Time."
On Sunday, May 29, 2011, Billy Scrivner and Justin Goff brought us some special
music.
On Sunday, May 15, 2011, we had special music from Rachel & Sidney Bush
(accompanied by their dad Eric) and from Charlsee Aldridge, and also heard a
message from Ray Clem, President of the Henry/Trimble County Gideons Camp.
Easter Sunday gave the kids the opportunity to enjoy hunting eggs and the adults
the opportunity to watch Steve Cravens cross Drennon Creek in his amphibious
vehicle.
On Sunday, April 17, 2011, Clayton and Khloe Brown
followed their mom's example by being baptized, again at LaGrange Christian
Church.
One Sunday
this April the Bush children took part in some footwashing during Sunday School.
On Sunday, April 3, 2011, we welcomed Demark Melander, originally from
Micronesia, who brought us his take on our traditional Christian hymns.
Also caught Camden Bryant with Grandmother Sherry Hardin on camera.
On Saturday, March 26, 2011, we hosted the 2nd Annual Sippin' Sisters Spring
Tea, with music provided by the choir of the 1st Baptist Church of LaGrange, and
the message brought by Judy Elmer.
On Sunday, March 20, 2011, Stephanie Cravens followed the example of Jesus by
baptism, performed at LaGrange Christian Church.
On Sunday, January 2, 2011, we held our first Free Fellowship Meal of the new
year. Here are a few photos of that day.
On
Wednesday, December 22, 2010, we held our annual Candlelight Christmas Service,
which included special music. We enjoyed hearing Sidney Bush on fiddle and
Rachel Bush on guitar. Also Abigail Brothers and Harriet Beatty singing a duet.
On Sunday, November 14, 2010, Michael Moore brought
his handmade model of our Church, to be displayed for all to see.

Here are two new artworks on the church grounds created by Tony Abbott in
October 2010 from cedar trees that needed to be cut down. The Disciples of
Christ Chalice and The Disciple Andrew.
Bro. Corey & Harriet Beatty are coaching their son JR and 12 other boys on a
Fall Ball team--the Cubs--at Clear Creek Park for the Shelby County Parks and
Recreation league. Drennon Christian Church is the sponsor.
On Sunday, September 19, 2010, several folks from Drennon took our old piano
out, donated to another family, and moved Judy Roberts' piano into the church.
Bro. Corey attended the Biennial Assembly for the
Christian Church in Kentucky (Disciples of Christ) at Central Christian Church
in Lexington, from September 9-11, 2010.
Sunday, September 12, 2010, was a very special day for our church. We
celebrated musical worship with Billy Scrivner and Tony & Tammy Underwood, then
had a fellowship luncheon and went to Drennon Creek for the baptism of Sidney
Bush.
On Sunday, September 5, 2010, chainsaw artist Tony Abbott visited Drennon Church
and left some Christian art for us to display until the Festival.
Sunday night, August 29, 2010, we hosted the Henry County Disciples Churches 5th
Sunday Gathering. We enjoyed music from The Eminence Singers and had
dessert afterwards. Included are some photos from our Sunday school that morning
and some photos of the beauty of our building and grounds.
On Sunday, August 15, 2010, we welcomed the Light Brigade Quartet to our church.
They sang both during the service as well as during our luncheon. Included
also is a picture of Deborah King leading our Children's Message.
In August 2010, Jordan Braden received his high school diploma. Jordan was
home-schooled, just like his brother Cassa, who graduated earlier this year.
On Monday, August 2, 2010, our highway sign was
replaced after it had been destroyed by an accident in late summer 2009.
On Sunday, August 1, 2010, we celebrated the baptism of Thomas Allen
Brothers in Drennon Creek, on the property of Earl Holmes, Jr.
On Sunday, July 25, 2010, Smithfield Christian and Drennon Christian Churches
traveled to the Cane Ridge Meeting House in Paris, Kentucky, the birthplace of
our denomination and the focal point of the Great Revival of 1801.
Our Wednesday night Andy Griffith Bible Study has been going strong with an
average attendance of about 15.
Amongst our recent repairs has been the July-August 2010 renovation of
our front porch and its support beams.
On July 20, 2010 the Beatty family visited South Union Shaker Village near
Auburn, Kentucky.
On July 13, 2010 the Beatty family visited The
Abbey of Gethsemani near Bardstown, Kentucky.
On Sunday, April 25, 2010, we welcomed Gail & Lauren Embry and Josie Williams as
musical guests. Gail sang and Lauren & Josie performed sign language to
Christian songs.
On April 19, 2010, Cassa Braden received his high school diploma. Cassa
was home-schooled.
On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, we held an egg hunt
for the children. We also welcomed some friends from far away in Oldham
County and beyond.
On Thursday, April 1, 2010, we hosted a Maundy
Thursday service for Berea, Drennon, Pleasureville, Point Pleasant and
Smithfield Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ).
Saturday, March 20, 2010 was the date of our
First Annual Sippin' Sisters Spring Tea. We welcomed Jane Knapp as our
guest speaker and enjoyed music performed by Abigail Beatty, Diane Belt and
Courtney Smith.
Billy Scrivner brought us music on Sunday morning,
February 21, 2010. Here are some pictures of Billy, along with a couple of
pictures of our church, featuring the Durbin boys and Harley the Church Dog.

January 17, 2010.
Charlie Adams played a Christmas medley on his violin at church on Sunday,
December 27, 2009.
On December 22, 2009 the Beatty family
visited Pleasant Hill, an important Christian site in Kentucky.
We had our candlelight service on Sunday evening, December 20, 2009.
Bobby & Diane Bramblett and Steve & Pam Bryant came
to play for us on Sunday, December 13, 2009. We also had another surprise
visit from Santa Claus.
Courtney Smith came and sang for us on Sunday,
December 6, 2009, and Santa came to visit as well.
Loren, Ilse,
Louisa and Lorena Powell came and shared some bluegrass gospel music with us on
Sunday, November 29, 2009. Included also is a photo of Charles & Eva Mae
Adams lighting our first Advent Candle.
New member Zachary Durbin was baptized on
Sunday, November 22, 2009, and we used the baptistry at LaGrange Christian
(because we ain't got one).

Dulcimers provided the music for our worship service and folks enjoyed a
fellowship meal afterwards.
On Sunday, September 13, 2009, Cara Hazzard of Crestwood Baptist Church came and
sang four songs and gave her testimony.
On Wednesday, September 9, 2009, Charles & Chuck Adams and Dean Baugh mounted
our new painting on the bell tower.
